I'm excited to be designing handmade jewellery based on my distinct illustrative style.
Taken from my original drawings, the designs have been laser cut from black and white acrylic and evoke illustrated silhouettes from old children’s books. My designs are based on fairytales and folklore, whimsy and dreaming.
They make a bold statement, tell a story and have mystery.
I was inspired to design a range of wearable art-style jewellery after becoming frustrated with mass produced jewellery saturating the marketplace. I found it difficult to find interesting pieces without the worry of seeing someone else wearing it. What I wanted were unique, illustrative pieces that said something about my personality and made a statement.
I hope to evoke a little bit of magic into women’s wardrobes with the designs, something I feels is missing in the current marketplace. It is my hope to expand the range in the near future with more elaborate and whimsical designs.
